Health Sharing Plans – Guide to Christian Medical Cost Sharing Programs

You’ve probably seen the commercials on TV for Christian health sharing plans, but wondered if they ere for real, how they worked and how much they cost. Here’s the bottom line, coming from people who have checked them out and tested them in real life.

How do the these medical host sharing plans work

These heath care sharing plans (also called health sharing ministries) are exempt from the requirements of the ACA mandate to purchase health insurance. That means you won’t have to pay a penalty!

There are 6 major health care sharing ministries that we have found:

  • Liberty Healthshare. This one seems to offer the most complete coverage and acts more like a tradition health insurance plan than the others.
  • Christian Healthcare Ministries
  • Samaritan Ministries
  • Medi-Share
  • AlieraCare
  • Altrua
  • Solidarity

See this page for a comparison table and a detailed buying guide to Christian Health Sharing Plans.
